Young gun Scott Henderson signed and raring to go
The BCD Solway Sharks would like to welcome back local forward Scott Henderson for the 2017/18 season. Scott is a young player who has made a big impact on the senior team in the past year and is a product of the Solway Sharks junior program.
The eighteen year old split his time between the U20’s and senior team last year and he had fifty-four points in eleven games for the 20’s as well as chipping in with points including a play-off final goal for the Sharks and he will be looking to add to his points tally this year.
On Henderson’s return Head coach Martin Grubb commented “Scotty is a player who loves playing the game and has improved year on year and I like what he brings to our team. He can play at both ends of the ice and loves to compete and every team needs that. He skates well, has good size and has a knack of finding the net and he doesn’t mind going to the net and I like that. He has a great attitude and has always been willing to play 20’s and was a leader on that team but I think now is the time for him to be pushing for a regular spot in this team and making a big contribution”.
Scott himself said ” I am very pleased to be returning to the Sharks and felt I improved over the year and adapted to the league well. I have been able to continue learning by playing both 20’s and seniors and now I want to kick on and play my part in continuing our success of last year. It felt great to be able to score in the playoff final and help the team to the treble and I can’t wait to test myself in the new look league”.
Henderson will again line up in the #89 shirt and be part of the forward line up for the season ahead.
