Wild Face Tough Weekend With Away Trip To Sheffield And Home Game v Bradford

The Wild beat Bradford 10-0 on their last visit to Widnes in December.

The RTL-sponsored Widnes Wild face another tough weekend as they continue their quest for the Laidler Division title with a game away in Sheffield on Saturday and then a home game against Bradford Bulldogs on Sunday.

On Saturday they travel to iceSheffield to play Sutton Sting for the fourth and final time this season in a 4.30pm face off game. League leaders Wild have the upper hand in encounters between the two teams so far this season, with two regular wins and one overtime win, and a victory would be a huge boost to their title ambitions. However, Sutton are also title contenders and are lurking ominously in 5th place in the Laidler Division table with games in hand over the other teams above them.

Widnes have beaten Sunday’s visitors Bradford twice this season already – 0-5 away back in September and then 10-0 at home in early December – but they lost to the Bulldogs 3-1 just before Christmas so previous form can count for nothing once the puck is dropped and an exciting game is anticipated.

The RTL-sponsored Widnes Wild are at home to the Bradford Bulldogs this Sunday 21st January 2018 at Silver Blades Widnes. Face off is at 5.30pm and doors open at 4.45.

Following the Wild game on Sunday, the Widnes-based Halton Huskies recreational team have a home game against the Kingston City Knights from Hull. Face off is at 8.30pm and admission is free.
