The Widnes Wild are delighted to announce that they will be holding player trials on Sunday 22nd May. Players from around the UK are invited to come and try out for the NIHL2 Laidler Conference Widnes Wild as Head Coach Scott Mckenzie looks for new players for the 2016/17 season.

“In all honesty I don’t want to lose too many guys for next season. I was incredibly happy with our group and I am just looking to add a couple of guys to what we already have. Last year we ran this event and had a great turn out so will be hoping for much of the same this year.”

The Wild management invite players for a two-hour session to which Coach Mckenzie and his coaching staff will put the players through their paces to find potential Wild stars. Any players wishing to attend should apply by emailing; scott.mckenzie@widneswild.co.uk.

TeamBefore the trials, Wild fans will be invited to ‘Skate with The Wild’ as from 17:00 – 18:30 some of the Wild players from the 2015/16 season will take to the ice to skate with their fantastic fans. A Wild spokesperson had this to say about the event taking place on the 22nd of May;

“We want to offer the fans a chance to come down to the rink, meet and skate with the players, sign up to season tickets, request merchandise for next season and also become part of our Supporters club. We will have tables set up just like on a game day for our fans to grab different opportunities that we have to offer. To top it off we also invite fans to stay behind and watch the Wild trials to spot potential Wild players of the 2016/17 season.”

Fans can skate with their favourite players for the same entry as a home game, £6 for adults and £3 for children (Under 4 skate for free) doors open at 17:00. For any further information contact info@widneswild.co.uk.
