Widnes Wild Gain A Wildcat – Michal Fico

Head Coach, Scott McKenzie, is delighted to announce the signing of Michal Fico from the Widnes Wildcats.

Michal, 26, will join the team as soon as pre-season camp starts on the 8th of August. He has played hockey from the young age of 13 but has spent the last 2 and a half years playing recreational hockey in Widnes.

This is what Michal Fico had to say about the news;

‘I’ve always wanted to play league hockey but have never been given the opportunity to, Scott and Widnes Wild are the first club to give me this chance.’

‘I attended the trials back in May and when Scott asked me if I wanted to join the team I couldn’t have been happier.’

‘I love Ice Hockey and I will always try to do my best. Widnes Wild have the best fans in the league and been able to play in front of such a great crowd will give me the energy I need to push myself further.’

‘I’m eager to get started and I’m looking to learn a lot from my new team mates and especially from such a fantastic coach.’

‘I have a passion for winning games and I always want to score so hopefully this passion and determination will help us, as a team, win the league.’

‘I have attended every single Widnes Wild home game so I know how loud the Wild fans can be. I would like them to keep up the energy next season and make it an even better atmosphere for the team and especially the travelling fans.’

Head Coach Scott McKenzie had this to say about it;

‘I’m looking for big things from Michal, he adds size and grit to our line up. He’s the type of person who will go to the net hard and I can see him being a great addition to our squad.’

‘This is our second import to the line up so far and I’m very pleased with the way things are shaping up. I’m not signing any passengers so everyone will play.’

‘Welcome to the team Michal.’
