Whitecotton Named Elite League Player Of The Week

The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce that forward Dustin Whitecotton has been awarded ‘Player of the Week’ by the Elite League. The award comes after Dustin’s impressive performances against both the Hull Stingrays and Sheffield Steelers last weekend that saw him score a goal and add an assist in each game to help the Giants extend their lead at the top of the Elite League to four points.

Whitecotton is in his first season with the Giants following his move from DEL side Straubing Tigers in the Summer and has settled quickly into life in the Elite League. He is currently the Giants top points scorer with 5 goals and 15 assists, good for 20 points in 18 games played for the organisation.

Stena Line Belfast Giants General Manager Todd Kelman congratulated the forward on the award and praised his contribtion to the Giants to date:

“Dustin has been our best all-round player the last couple of weeks and this past weekend he was instrumental in two very important road wins for us. I genuinely don’t know if anyone works harder night in and night out and in my opinion, he has gotten better every week so far this season.”
