Your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm are thrilled to welcome Jindrich Pacl to the club for the upcoming 2018/19 season!

The 6’1” Czech netminder, known as Henry, joins Storm’s roster to strengthen and complete the goalie line-up for the upcoming season.

Last season originally saw Pacl icing in the Erste Liga league for Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák, before transferring to Milton Keynes Lightning – stepping up to cover first choice netminder, Mika Wiikman’s injury. Throughout the remaining 2017/18 season, Pacl played 13 games, where he held a 90% save percentage.

No stranger to the EIHL, the 23 year-old also played in 2016/17 for Nottingham Panthers alongside Storm recent signing Logan Macmillan. As Wiikman’s backup, the 6’1” Netminder played 16 games for Panthers, where he averaged a save percentage of 89%. Pacl also played five games in the Continental Cup, helping Panthers take the title and the silverware.

Previous teams for the 187lbs goalie, include EBYSL team Orli Znojmo U20 and Czech Republic international team (U17 through to U20S). Pacl also spent six seasons developing in the Czech league for HC Plzen.

Head coach, Ryan Finnerty is pleased to have acquired an extra netminder, stating;

“We wanted to make sure we had extra cover in case Ginn went down or needed some rest. Pacl has proven he’s capable to play at this level and it’s nice to know we have a guy ready to step in when needed.

“I think the EIHL is rapidly becoming a two goalie league. Ash is still very young and he’s just starting to go through the development process and we need to be patient with that. He will get valuable game time with the Lions this season and will still continue to train with us daily.”

Pacl added:

“I am really happy to be a part of the Manchester Storm family. I can’t wait to the start the season and I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates, staff and great fans”

Pacl will be wearing number 72 this season. Watch out on the club’s social media to avoid missing out on owning and loaning his jerseys, which will be available soon. You can follow the OSC and get updates here!
