Weekend Preview – Week 11

A tough couple of games lie ahead for the Bees this coming weekend.   First a trip to the league leading Guildford Flames on Saturday (6pm faceoff) before returning to the Hive on Sunday to face another of their local rivals the Slough Jets (6pm faceoff).

After a tough, tight and tense weekend last time out in a double header against the Milton Keynes Lightning the Bees will feel disappointed to only have one point to show for their efforts but will be buoyed by the performances, having shown they can mix it with any team in the league.

The Guildford Flames sit atop the EPIHL having won their last seven straight games and only having lost three games all season in regulation. Obviously a tough task for the Bees but the last time the sides met at the Spectrum it was a close game and the Bees last season had a great record on the Flames ice so the Bees will take confidence from this and be looking to avenge a heavy defeat at the hands of Flames earlier this month.

Sunday evening the Bees return to the Hive to take on their local rivals, the Slough Jets.   The Jets have undergone several changes side the sides last met; Ryan Watt, Gregg Rockman, Tomas Fojtik & Michael Wales have all left with Alan Lack and a new netminder Kamil Jarina having arrived meaning a new challenge for the Bees.   With a win over the Jets already this season at the Hive the Bees will be looking for more of the same this weekend.

For those that don’t already know as well as the Supporters Club desk in the foyer there is also a Supporters Club sales kiosk at the back of Block 5 (opposite the bar) which stocks a range of merchandise including the new range of T-Shirts and the Bees replica Cup (Yellow) jerseys.   They also have taken delivery of scarf’s, umbrellas, thermos mugs, ice scrapers and more just in time as the weather has already started to change!  Also new in are Lanyards for your season tickets (price at £2.50 each) and they also have a hole punch available for the season tickets too if you wish to borrow it.   The Supporters Club can now also take card payments at the kiosk too J

The 50/50 raffle and Shirt off a Back raffle both return this weekend.   Also the Player signing table returns post game too.   The Shirt Off a Back raffle this Sunday is for Bees ever popular forward Lukas Smital’s shirt – straight off his back at the end of the game!   The signing table will also be manned by Lukas and he will be joined by Bees forward Shaun Thompson and defenceman Sam Oakford so make sure you pop along to the family bar, above the home dressing room, after the game.

Don’t forget that the official match night programme has also undergone a bit of a revamp and “The Buzz” will be available at Saturdays game (priced at £2.50 and in full colour throughout) – make sure you pick up your copy as the new look is proving popular.

Hope to see you all there Loud & Proud!
