Weekend Preview – Week 10

After the two hard fought close victories over Basingstoke and Telford for the Bees last weekend they are sure to be looking for more of the same this weekend however things do not get any easier for them.   The Bees take on the Milton Keynes Lightning in a home and away double header pair of games.

The Lightning sit in fourth place in the league, having won six from their last eight games including victories over Basingstoke and Manchester.   The bounced back from a shutout loss to Sheffield last Saturday with a narrow win over the Basingstoke Bison on Sunday.

The weekend starts at the Hive on Saturday night (6pm faceoff) before the trip to the Lightnings temporary home for the 2013/14 season at the Coventry Skydome (5.15pm faceoff).   The two sides have met already at the Hive this campaign, in the second week of the season, where the Lightning ran out winners.   The Bees will be looking to take the positives and confidence from last weekend into this as they seek out more league points.

For those that don’t already know as well as the Supporters Club desk in the foyer there is also a Supporters Club sales kiosk at the back of Block 5 (opposite the bar) which stocks a range of merchandise including the new range of T-Shirts and the Bees replica Cup (Yellow) jerseys.   They also have taken delivery of scarf’s, umbrellas, thermos mugs, ice scrapers and more just in time as the weather has already started to change!  Also new in are Lanyards for your season tickets (price at £2.50 each) and they also have a hole punch available for the season tickets too if you wish to borrow it.   The Supporters Club can now also take card payments at the kiosk too J

The 50/50 raffle and Shirt off a Back raffle both return this weekend.   Also the Player signing table returns post game too.   The Shirt Off a Back raffle this Sunday is for Bees forward Scott Spearing’s shirt – straight off his back at the end of the game!   The signing table will also be manned by Scott and he will be joined by Bees netminder Alex Mettam and defenceman Pavel Strycek so make sure you pop along to the family bar, above the home dressing room, after the game.

Don’t forget that the official match night programme has also undergone a bit of a revamp and “The Buzz” will be available at Saturdays game (priced at £2.50 and in full colour throughout) – make sure you pick up your copy as the new look is proving popular.

Hope to see you all there Loud & Proud!
