Want To Play Floorball
During last years Blueliner Hockey Tour to Sweden we were fortunate enough to sample the local sporting scene. Although we missed on visiting the floorball we were fascinated to learn more about this form of hockey. The simplest way to describe floorball is as ice hockey without ice and, as we learnt, it is a massive sport in Sweden. It is played by both men and women and both forms are equally as popular. Floorball is also played in many areas of the UK and now the sports governing body the GBFUA is looking to expand the sport.
As part of this GBFUA is attempting to organise a national university side to participate in the World University Floorball Championships and is looking for University and College sides to play in a new league which it hopes will start in the New Year.
We hope this article will do our bit to spread the word. As if you are interested please contact info@gbfua.org.uk
