UTV: Keefe ‘Not Hiding’ From Devils After Ban

Belfast Giants captain Adam Keefe will miss Saturday’s clash with the Cardiff Devils – the team he picked up a four-game ban against – but he’ll be back to face them on Sunday ‘stronger than ever’.

The suspended star told UTV it’s been no fun watching his team play without him – he has already missed out on the last three games, as he serves his lengthy penalty for a check to the head.

The ban was served over an incident against Devils player Andrew Conboy, which could make Keefe’s return interesting.

“First and foremost, my goal is to win hockey games and that’s where I have to put my focus,” he said. ”But they’re not going to happy with the end result of that hit. And that’s fine. I mean, we’re all men – I’ve made a living handling myself and answering the bell when I have to. I’ll be there on Sunday and I’m not going to be hiding anywhere.”

Also missing from Saturday’s game will be Jeffrey Szwez, which Keefe says is a big loss for the Giants.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s and Sunday’s games this weekend as the Giants take on the Devils. Click here to book your tickets online or visit the Odyssey Arena Box Office in person or call (028) 9073 9074.
