UK Round Up 30th September
Elite League
The Coventry Blaze put in another gallant display to commit the Sheffield Steelers to a winless weekend. It was a Schutte double either side of the 2 second intermission that proved to be the difference between the sides.
Whilst in Glasgow the Braehead Clan had Jade Galbraith to thank as his third period goal took the game to overtime. No winner could be found and for the second night in a row the Hull Stingrays lost out in overtime.
The Belfast Giants meanwhile showed they are well in their groove as they beat the Fife Flyers to make it 3 wins in 4 nights. In the nights final game the Dundee Stars piled more pressure on the Edinburgh Capitals as doubles from Wirll and Ryhanan led them to a 5 – 3 victory
EPL
In the EPL the last 100% record was lost as the Bracknell Bees upset the odds away at Guildford in an 11 goal thriller. It is the Bees second 4 point weekend on the bounce. Fellow front runners Basingstoke also dropped a point as they lost on penalties to the Milton Keynes Lightning. Meanwhile the Manchester Phoenix picked up a moral boosting winning against Swindon and Sheffield picked up their first regulation win over the Peterborough Phantoms.
