The Blackburn Hawks management would like to avoid any confusion and to clarify our current position on the scheduling of the two away games still to be played against the Hull Pirates.

The game currently showing on the EIHA website at Hull v Hawks on Wednesday 28th February, has not been agreed by us and as far as the Hawks management are concerned will not take place. No dates have yet been forthcoming for the second TBA game.

The Hawks management have made it very clear to the League Fixtures secretary that we are unable to play any more midweek away games. This is due to the fact that all our players also have full time employment during the week and it would be either impractical or impossible to get a team to Hull for a 7.30pm/8.00pm face off.

The EIHA ‘Rules of competition’ section 6.2 states ‘ Clubs will not be asked to play mid week games unless by agreement of both teams concerned, the league fixtures secretary & LMC’.

With this in mind we have informed the Fixtures secretary some weeks ago that we would not be agreeing to any more mid week away fixtures.

The Hawks management will keep the fans up to date as and when we have any further dialogue with the LMC on this issue
