Finland is one of the top nations for ice hockey in the world and has a successful national side and host of players in teams around the world. The league system has produced each one of those stars and at the top of league tier is the SM-Liiga. Lower leagues exist including the Metsis which is the second highest and Suomi- Sarja or third tier.Â
