Tigers Look To Bounce Back In Weekend Fixtures
Telford Tigers take on Bracknell Bees and Milton Keynes Lighting this weekend with all eyes on a quick return to the EPL play-off positions.
The county men slipped to ninth after back-to-back defeats in their last two games, but are still regarded as one of the league’s in-form teams.
Telford’s run of seven wins in ten matches will be put to the test against a Bracknell side that beat Slough 5-2 last weekend, while Milton Keynes trounced Manchester 7-2.
The situation is further complicated by Bracknell’s defeat of the Lightning just a few days ago.
Tigers coach Tom Watkins wants his side to stage an immediate return to form, starting with Saturday’s visit to Berkshire.
He said: “We don’t want to dwell too much on last week, although we did play well against Swindon and Slough.
“Remember, though, we beat Basingstoke on Saturday, so I think we underestimated the other sides a little bit.
“We need to bounce back this weekend. I am happy with how we have been picking up points, although a lot of the goals have been coming from our first unit. Getting the other two units to chip in with some more goals is definitely a priority.”
