Tigers launch free tickets offer for Armed Forces
The Tigers will offer free admission to all Armed Forces personnel in the English Premier League next season.
The reigning league and cup champions have already frozen ticket prices, as they look to build on last year’s success.
Club bosses decided to mark Armed Forces Day by improving their offer to existing members of the military.
Paul Baker, Director of Red Hockey, is delighted the club is planning to honour service personnel next season.
He said: “My father-in-law is a former US Ambassador and I’ve always loved seeing the way he and his family honour the troops that protect them.
“Without the Armed Forces, I might not have met my wife, as they ensured her safety in some of the world’s most dangerous countries.
“I will always be grateful to them for that, and everything else our military do around the world. We owe them more than we will ever realise.â€
Serving members of the military will get free admission to any home game on the production of a current ID card, when a paying adult accompanies them.
Military veterans will be admitted for £7.50, on  production of a valid ID, and when a paying adult accompanies them.
Mr Baker added: “When you see a military officer at an airport, they are always first on and will often get bumped up to first class.
“People stop and thank them for their service and applaud them. We need to do more of that here, to show our respect and gratitude to them.
“This is just one thing we can do to show our appreciation for the Armed Forces.â€
The Tigers have made several improvements to their squad this summer, including the addition of GB international Phil Hill.
And Mr Baker wants to see the ‘full house’ posters at Telford Ice Rink throughout next season.
“Having all our supporters behind Tom and the boys will more important than ever,†he said.
“The atmosphere towards the end of last season was incredible and I want our fans to repeat that every week. I am determined to make a Tigers ticket the hottest ticket in town.
“It is what the team deserves and with our latest offer to the military, we can make that happen.â€
