Tickets Still Available: An Evening With Dave Simms

Powerplay Magazine, and local print company Keyprint, have teamed up with the DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms to bring the voice of British Ice Hockey to Peterborough.

‘An Evening With Dave Simms’ will see one of British Hockey’s most controversial guys holding “court” at the Park Inn on Friday 1st November, as he brings his very successful hockey evening to Peterborough.

Powerplay and Keyprint, who are based in the city, have both been supporters and sponsors of the Phantoms for over 10 years since the clubs inception.

Never short of an opinion on all things hockey, Dave has had a long career in the British hockey scene. A prominent member of the old Solihull organisation, Dave took that experience to the Sheffield Arena and also worked for the GB National Team as both Media Manager and radio co-commentator on the BBC On-Line broadcasts from the World Championships. Last season saw Simmsy commentate on the PremierTV live coverage of GB at the Olympic Qualification tournament in Latvia.

Simms also anchors Sky Sports Elite League coverage with colour commentary and analysis.

“The idea of these nights is to have some fun.” said Simms. “I have 30 years experience in the game at all levels from the Solihull Barons to the GB National team – I have some great stories to tell.

“I’m opinionated and in the past you may not like or agree with what I have said – come to the Park Inn and discuss, debate and argue your case. If you have barracked and given it to me on internet forums, Facebook and twitter now’s you chance to discuss and debate face to face. I’ve got some great memories from the old Peterborough and Solihull games, and i’m looking forward to coming back to the city to meet fans old and new.”

Dave brings a wealth of experience at all levels of hockey to the table and has hundreds of hockey stories to relate. Come along to the Park Inn and hear David’s take on all things hockey. Challenge his opinions and ask questions of your own. I am sure he will have some interesting answers.

Love him or hate him you certainly cannot ignore him.

Tickets for this event are on-sale from this weekend from the Merchandise Table, priced at £15, including Buffet, and the event is strictly over 16′s. The night is compered by Phantoms Legend Dwayne Newman, and will also feature a raffle, with some exclusive prizes, including a sporty Mercedes Benz for the weekend.

This is taking place Friday 1st November, Park Inn Hotel,  7.30 arrival for 8pm start.
