Thornton Extremely Happy With 2014/15 Schedule

Following yesterdays Elite League fixtures meeting, Stena Line Belfast Giants Head of Hockey Operations Steve Thornton is extremely happy with the Giants 2014/15 schedule and is already circling some key dates on the calendar.

Giants fans can look forward to home double headers with each of our Erhardt Conference opponents, welcoming the Cardiff Devils, Coventry Blaze, Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers to the Odyssey Arena for back to back games this coming season.

Fans who enjoy traveling with the team can expect a Scottish Triple Header in September and a number of other Giants Travel Club trips throughout the year.

Thornton commented “I am extremely happy with our fixtures for the 2014/15 season.

Our fixtures eliminate a lot of unnecessary travel, and we have got the big games on the best dates.

Away fans love coming to Belfast and we look forward to welcoming the to the Odyssey and the double-header weekends against our biggest rivals help create a fantastic atmosphere.

The busy Christmas and New Year period is littered with exciting fixtures and we have a pre season game scheduled, which we will be releasing details of shortly.”

Each team will play sides in their own Conference four times at home and four times away, while matches against sides in the other Conference will be two at home and two away, for a 52-game season.

The teams and venues will ratify the fixtures in the coming days and an official announcement will be made on Tuesday 15th July at 6am detailing the full schedule.
