This Week 9th March

It has been a big week for the EIHL as it has been Cup final week and more twists in the title race.

Devils Claim First Silverware

The first EIHL silverware of the 2015 season has gone the way of the Cardiff Devils. 2 second period goals moments apart were decisive as the Devils beat the Steelers at the Motorpoint.

It’s the Devils first silverware since 2007 and marks the Kelman era with a bang.

Clan Hopes Take a Blow

It was not a good trip south for the Braehead Clan this week. The Clan took on both the Steelers and the Panthers yet returned with no points and no goals either. That and a Forney goal 16 seconds from time for the Steelers over the Giants handed the initiative back to the Yorkshire men. Whilst the Giants and the Panthers may out of the race the Devils can not be ruled out and a 12-0 drumming of the Stars on Saturday night is the prove of that.

Flaming Marvellous

The Guildford Flames have secured 2nd place in the EPL with a win over the Swindon Wildcats. It marks a remarkable run for the Flames who have finished now lower than third since 2010.

Wild Step

Next seasons NIHL North is being to take shape. The Widnes Wild scored two victories at the weekend that piles the pressure on the Hull Jets for the final chance to gain promotion this season. If the Jets drop a point next weekend the Wild will have secure 4th place, a playoff spot and a chance to play the Whitley Warriors for a place in the next years D1.
