This Week 13th October

This week was one of action. Games started on Tuesday giving a full week of action.

 

CHL Group Stage Ends

The CHL group stage ended on Wednesday night with Nottingham Panthers heading to Hamburg on Tuesday. Hopes were high after the Panthers beat Hamburg in Nottingham but a change of coach behind the Freezers bench has given them a spark back and ran out 6-0 winners. The Panthers though did do enough to be ranked 40th out of the 44 teams that entered.

 

Clan Return Home

The Braehead Clan finally returned to home ice. It was evidence that the work they did last season has paid off as it was another capacity attendance at the Braehead Arena.

 

Dundee Make New Signing

The Dundee Stars have not had a great start to the season but taken the option to bring in reenforcements. Ryan Grimshaw signs for the Stars after spending much of his career in the ECHL.

 

Meyers Suspended

Cardiff Devils forward Danny Meyers has become the latest victim of the Department of Player Safety. Meyers gets 2 games for checking from behind during his sides win over Hull on Saturday night.

Neil Tucker

Neil has written on ice hockey for many websites concentrating on British ice hockey mostly. Neil also covers ice hockey in other countries and organises his Blueliner Hockey Tour. A graduate of the Manchester Metropolitan University Neil turned his hand to hockey writing in 2009. As well as contributing on Blueliner Hockey Neil has contributed to Get Real Hockey and Slapshot Magasine.
