The Olympics meets Britain’s Got Talent at the G9 Testimonial!
Olympic Silver Medallist, Nathan Robertson and “Britain’s Got Talent” star, Bailey McConnell will go head to head in a penalty shootout as part of the Half Time Entertainment at Grant McPherson’s Testimonial.
Nathan, who won Silver for Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the Badminton Mixed Doubles, followed by Gold at the World Championships, has become a massive Milton Keynes Lightning fan over the past couple of years and gets to as many games as his packed schedule allows – even attending away games as far away as Hull and, more recently, the away leg of the play off semi final against Telford.
Singer Bailey first came to watch the Lightning a number of years ago with his family before making it to the Semi-Finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, where he received rave reviews from none other than Simon Cowell.
Grant had this to say on the upcoming shootout – “First off, I just want to thank both Nathan and Bailey for agreeing to be a part of my Testimonial. I think it will be fun spectacle for the fans to watch. I’ve spoken to Nathan quite a few times over the past couple of years and he absolutely loves Ice Hockey and Milton Keynes Lightning. He was even commentating on Sky Sports recently with his MKL badge on, which was great to see. I also remember when Bailey first came to watch the Lightning with his family. He was a great little kid back then so it was awesome to see when his singing talent got him so far on the national stage. I will follow the next stages of his career with interest. May the best man win!â€
