“The Boss” is back
Ross will return for his 6th season as a Shark after playing a year in North America when he was younger.
He is a player who is loved by his own fans and is someone who gets under the oppositions skin and is always willing to look out for his team mates and he has become a big part of the roster in recent years.
Murray had already played over 150 senior games for the Sharks despite being only 23 and he will be a popular addition to the team with both players and fans alike.
Head coach Martin Grubb commented “Ross is someone who cares about this club and his team and that is the kind of character we look for here. He knows what I expect from him and he always embraces his role and will do anything for his team and you can’t get enough of those type of players. He is gritty and loves to play in the dirty areas and can also chip in with his fair share of points and that is important. I like what he brings to our team as a player and as a person and people forget he is still young and developing his game and I am excited to have him back”.
Ross was happy to return and said “I am excited to be back after winning everything last year and we know it is now a different league and teams and that excites and motivates me to test myself. I know what is expected at this club and I think the winning mentality I have is an asset to the team. I am looking forward to playing against some new teams and players and seeing what the challenge brings along with renewing rivalries with some other teams and I can’t wait to get started”.
Ross will be wearing his familiar #90 jersey and will join Calum Hepburn on the roster so far.
There will be more announcements over the next few weeks with some returning players and a few new guys so stay tuned for further information.
