The Boss is back:

Solway Sharks have added the ultimate team player according to coach Martin Grubb, as Ross Murray returns for the 18/19 season.

The Building Craftsmen Dumfries-sponsored outfit are building their roster for the new NIHL season, and long-time Shark Murray is a popular addition.

The 24-year-old has won four league titles with the Sharks and is a big part of the club on and off the ice. Last season he recorded 38 points in the league, and matched his career high for goals with 14.

Speaking on the signing, head coach Martin Grubb said: “Ross is the type of player every coach wants on his team. He is someone who gives everything and embraces any role you ask him to play.

“He loves to play in the dirty areas, is good on the PK but can also contribute offensively and we will be looking for him to make an impact again this season.

“He knows what it takes to win and always puts his team and teammates first so it was an easy decision to bring Ross back and I look forward to working with him again.”

The last sentiment was echoed by Murray, who said: “It’s always great when Martin asks you to come back and it’s an easy choice to make.

“I’ve been looking forward to this season and working hard to be ready.

“Hopefully we can learn from our mistakes last year and build ourselves up to be a team with a winning chance.

“Personally I thought I had a good year last season and want to prove that I can be a top forward again and deliver on a consistent basis and help the team win.”

Murray will wear the familiar #90 shirt this coming season, which is available on the own and loan scheme, priced at just £100 per shirt. If you are interested in this or any sponsorship options then email
