Stars sign local teenage prospect

Oxford City Stars have added to the squad for the new campaign with the signing of teenage prospect Tom Ravenscroft.

The 18-year-old defenceman has signed from Swindon Wildcats 2 to join his home-town club. Tom was a graduate of the Okanagan
Hockey Academy.

Tom said: “I’m excited to be with the Stars this coming season, especially being from Oxford and watching them as a kid. The Stars are a great club with great fans.

“I’m also really looking forward to working with Simon and the rest of the group. The new league format means it’ll be very competitive, and I can’t wait to contribute to this year’s campaign.”

Head Coach Simon Anderson said: “Tom comes highly recommended and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do at NIHL1 level.

“He has come from a very good hockey background in the OHA U.K. Programme, so I know that Tom will have been well coached and have high hockey IQ.

“Tom is a good size for his age and plays a simple defence first game and I am excited to watch him continue his development at the higher level.”

Tom’s home and away shirts are now available for sponsorship via our Own and Loan package. They are £100 each – or both home and away for £150.
