Spectrum Return For Tiger Plant
Telford Tigers forward Ricky Plant is hoping for a warm welcome when he returns to Guildford for the first time on Sunday – but he will be targeting a win for his new club.
The 36-year-old spent nearly 15 years at the Surrey outfit, winning a succession of EPL titles, before signing for Telford at the end of last year.
Plant, who was born and trained in Shropshire, has since collected 15 points in just ten games, helping the Tigers to seventh in the standings.
And he is looking forward to renewing old acquaintances when his side face the Flames this weekend.
“I am a bit nervous and excited about playing there again, but that is natural,†Plant said.
“I spent the best part of my career there and I love the fans, so I’m not sure what sort of reaction I will get. Hopefully, it will be good.
“But it won’t stop me from trying my best to get a win for the Tigers, that’s for sure.â€
