Spartans take on Manchester
On Sunday 20th October, Sheffield Spartans take on Manchester Minotaurs at Ice Sheffield, facing off at 7.30pm. With a return fixture next Saturday in Altrincham both teams will be looking to put down a marker this weekend in the battle for points, arguably for differing reasons.
Minotaurs, formerly known as Trafford Metros have a much improved squad this season including import player Lukas Zeman who has bagged 11 goals already this season however results have not gone their way to date but they have become a difficult team to overcome this time round. Manchester will be disappointed that results have not been reflective of the performances they have put in but they will see this weekend as the perfect opportunity to address that issue with a home game against Telford on Saturday before they face Spartans in Sheffield on Sunday.
Spartans will be looking to continue their recent good form & from past experience will know not to treat the threat of Manchester lightly but having said that with recent performances as well as the results to go with them, Spartans have every right to go into the game with confidence to build on what has been a good start to the season. Spartans will welcome back Dave Pyatt & Scott Morris and it is hoped that Andy Cook may also make a return from injury. Andy is keen to get back into action after dressing last weekend but not icing which should see Spartans more or less at full strength for what will be an interesting & hopefully enjoyable clash between two promising teams in our own battle of the roses!
Please note that the face-off time for this fixture is now 7.30pm.
