SIGNING NEWS: Andrew Clark

Andrew Clark has joined Widnes Wild just in time to play against Deeside Dragons.

Clarky as he is affectionately known has played for Mick at Ice and Inline hockey for the past 15 years, one of the founder members of the “world famous” West Coast Wasps who dominated the Inline Hockey scene in the early part of the 2000’s, he took to the Ice at U10’s and has played at the highest level for England/GB juniors at both Ice and Inline.

Mick Caunce said;
“Andy Clark is a player I have always known would sign for us at Widnes, he can find the net and turn the defence inside out with his quick hands and slick moves on the puck. Don’t let his size fool you either he can certainly put fear into the mind of players a lot bigger than him with his aggressive, focussed style of play”.

The only negative is Andrew’s career; he is in the merchant navy servicing the oil rigs in the North Sea, which means he spends 4 weeks off shore when on ship.

“This is not ideal but the lads all have to work and Clarky is too good a player to let this stop me from signing him.. When home I know he will be training and at all the games his work will allow him”.

Andy’s shirts will be up for Own & Loan within the next 24 hours!
