SIGNING: Moore the merrier for Sharks – #75 returns for new season

Steven Moore will ice next season for Building Craftsmen Dumfries sponsored Solway Sharks after the forward signed on again at the Ice Bowl.

Ayr-born Moore, 23, has been with the Sharks since 2011, icing in almost 150 League and Cup games.  Last season Moore had his best points return, with 39 points (10+29) in 36 matches.

Wearing his familar number 75 jersey, Moore has formed a strong partnership with Ross Murray on the club’s so-called ‘energy line’.  Last year paired up with Michael Corbett for long spells, the line would often go to disrupt an oppenent’s top line, or kill penalties.

However Moore and his linemates have lit the lamp too, Moore himself with double figures in the goals column for the past four seasons.

Coach Martin Grubb said: “Moorey is a guy who is important to this team as he does all the little things well and can play in all situations for us.

“He is one of our best penalty killers and his positional sense is something that is very valuable. He skates well and has skill and we would like him to add a few more goals to his game and continue helping this team as he has done since he moved here.

“He has chemistry with other players on our roster and can also play with anyone and will do whatever is best for the team.”

With the NIHL season less than a month away, BCD Sharks will continue their team building next week with more names added to the roster.
