SIGNING: Coulter returns for Sharks

Another in the long line of players to have come through the system at Dumfries Ice Bowl, Joe Coulter is the latest player to sign up for Solway Sharks 2016/17 season.

The 21 year old Dumfries native has played for the senior Sharks since 2011, still playing age group and SNL. Last year he topped the 20-points mark for the first time as a senior with 7+19=26 in 36 games. His development from fringe player to key member of the Sharks forward line is something coach Martin Grubb wants to see continue.

“Joe is a player who has come through our junior program like many others on this team and he has worked hard to earn his spot in the senior team. He is someone who has good skating ability, speed and has good hands and that has helped him in this league.

“He works hard to improve and has spent his summer focusing on his strength and conditioning to ensure he is in good shape to start the season. He is a good team mate and a good character to have in the room and we are pleased to help him continue to develop.

“I would like to challenge Joe to put more numbers up this year and we will help him by working on decision making and shooting as he loves to find a way to pass rather than shoot. I am pleased he is back and wants to continue to contribute to the team.”

Joe Coulter will be BCD Solway Sharks #9 this coming season.

#SherksSuperSunday will continue later today with another addition to the blueline.
