SIGNING: Connor comes back from North America to play for Sharks
Returning to the UK after two years playing in North America, Connor Henderson will play for Building Craftsmen Dumfries-sponsored Solway Sharks this season.
The 18-year-old made his senior Sharks debut in 2013/14 and added 12 points (2+10) in 14 games. Since then he’s been with Ontario Hockey Academy and West Michigan Wolves in NAHL, as well as turning out for Great Britain U18 in World Championship action.
Now studying at University in Scotland, he’s returned to his hometown club – and come back a better player according to coach Martin Grubb.
“I am delighted to be able to bring Connor back to the club after his time away playing in North America. He has come back to Scotland to study at university and so it made sense for us to be able to bring him here and also try and get him to a higher level as the opportunities arise.
“Connor is a player who is full of skill, speed and goals and he will add energy and enthusiasm to our line up and will be a handful for other teams defences. He has always had that’s ability and has been away and improved that overseas and has come back a more confident and mature player and will play a big part for our offence this year.
“He has represented GB in a World Championships and has good experience of the European and North American game for a young player and he can play all over the ice and in all situations. I am looking forward to working with Connor again as he is a good kid and someone who wants to be the best he can and I will do all I can to help him with that.
“I know he will do well for us.”
Connor Henderson will take on the #25 jersey this season at BCD Solway Sharks.
That concludes #SharksSuperSunday – but the player news isn’t done yet! Keep checking website and social media for the next announcement.
