SIGNING: Andrews brings calming presence on blueline for Sharks

Returning to the Sharks blueline for a third straight season is Stuart Andrews, the club have announced today.

The Building Craftsmen Dumfries-sponsored side have signed up the Irvine-born 22 year old after he moved from North Ayrshire Wild two seasons ago.

A calm, steady presence at the back, Andrews still chipped in with 4+7=11 from 31 League and Cup games for the Sharks last year.

“Stuey is back for another year and he is someone who loves playing the game,” said coach Martin Grubb.

“He is still keen to develop and learn so it is always easy to coach these type of players and want them on your team. He has developed since he joined us and we will ensure he continues to improve his overall game and use the attributes he has.

“He has good size, can skate and competes well and if we can add to that with continual improvements he will again be a player we can rely on to do his job and help the team. He keeps himself in good shape and enjoys being here and is popular in the room and I am happy to have him back on our blue line and pushing him to keep improving and helping the team.”

Stuart Andrews and his #21 jersey will be patrolling the blue line at the Ice Bowl from September.

Stuart is the second player signing on #SharksSuperSunday – a third name will be released later tonight.
