Sheffield Steel Two Points At Home Against Giants
The Stena Line Belfast Giants fell to a 3-1 away defeat by the Sheffield Steelers on Sunday night with a Cullen Eddy empty net goal sealing the win with 61 seconds remaining.
Levi Nelson found the corner of the Giants net after a fortunate bounce to put the home side 1-0 up at 13:40 in the first period.
Guillaume Desbiens finished a nice Sheffield passing move to give his side a 2-0 early in the final period before Kris Beech struck at 52:07 to pull one back for the visitors, tipping in a Mitch Ganzak slapshot.
However Cullen Eddy’s clearance from the Steelers zone completed the Steelers win as the puck rolled into the empty Giants net with Stephen Murphy pulled.
The Giants return to action on Saturday 19th December on the first of two games in Edinburgh in as many nights before returning to play the Cardiff Devils in Belfast on Wednesday 23rd December, face-off 7pm. Secure your seats NOW for the first of our four Christmas home games by clicking here to visit Ticketmaster Online or purchase in person from all Ticketmaster Outlets or The SSE Arena Box Office or over the phone by calling (028) 9073 9074.
