Sharks rebrand ahead of 20th season:

After an exciting start to our team building for the 2018/19 season, Solway Sharks are delighted to present a new look logo and an exciting relaunch of the club.

Club chairman Les Maxwell said: “After the 17/18 season ended our head coach, Martin Grubb, and I took some time to ‘take stock’ and review the club’s position.

“Solway Sharks have consistently delivered success over recent seasons but we must not rest on our laurels. The league has now become much stronger and is now the second level of the sport in the UK. Therefore to ensure continued success for our club, we need to commit to improving and developing as a club on and off the ice.

“Off the ice there’s lots of change happening! We have new Committee members, a new partnership agreement and some new sponsors as well as the continued support of our main sponsors Building Craftsmen Dumfries Ltd and the Holywood Trust.

“On the ice Martin is building a really exciting team for the forthcoming season. We have a number of new faces who bring experience from the professional game as well as a number of returning players who are still hungry for success. The returning players need to buy in to a more professional approach if we are to succeed and compete at this level.

“Of course we remain totally committed to working with our Junior Sharks to continue to provide a pathway for our young local players to play at the highest level they can.

“As part of our new approach we have a clean new logo. Marketing, branding and a refreshed approach to our game night experience are all critical to building our fan base, and improving our offer to supporters. We hope the fans like the new logo.

“This season we have entered a new partnership with what is now our Official Supporters Club, and I look forward to working more closely with them this season and beyond.

“It’s an exciting time for the club, with some big changes. We will shortly be promoting our ticketing options on our new web site and we will be announcing a big event over the next few weeks to celebrate our 20th season!

“Finally, to Sharks fans old and new, thank you all for your support. I look forward to welcoming you to the Ice Bowl soon.”

Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks continue their preparation for the new season with further player announcements in the coming days.
