Sharks made to fight for solitary point
The BCD Solway Sharks travelled south to Shropshire on Saturday to face bottom of the table Telford Tigers and were made to fight all the way for a share of the spoils.
It looked like “service as normal” when Daniel Abercrombie (13:34) was on-hand to convert the Sharks opening goal after good work from Stuart Kerr and Marc Fowley and the Sharks duly saw out the remainder of the period without too much trouble.
The home side redoubled their efforts in the second period and Karol Jets (24:42) converted from Luke Brittle and Connor Gordon for the sessions only goal.
Into the final session and Jets (41:40) was the home fans hero when he gave them the lead with an unassisted strike early on. Telford were determined to hold onto their lead and a series of minor infringements gave the Sharks four powerplay opportunities to level the scores but Tigers netminder Daniel Brittle was in fine form. However, even Brittle could do nothing to stop Stevie Moore (51:48) from levelling the scores from Jordan Buesa’s pass and despite strong efforts from both sides this was to be the games final strike.
Man of the Match for the Sharks was Stevie Moore.
