Sharks adopt new constitution apply to become charitable trust
The Building Craftsmen (Dumfries) Ltd. Solway Sharks took a major step towards restructuring their future last night (Tuesday) when it was agreed to adopt a new constitution and apply for charitable status and become a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
On the surface of things supporters are unlikely to notice many changes but behind the scenes the club will be run in a very different way. A board of six trustees will have overall responsibility for the running of the club with power devolved to sub-committee’s responsible for business, fundraising and the playing side of things.
The Board of Trustees consists of: Les Maxwell (Chairman), Andy Ferguson (Vice Chairman), Tracy Muirhead (Secretary), Michelle Mitchell (Treasurer), Morel McKenzie and David Morrison.
The Sharks are delighted to confirm that Tracy Muirhead will also continue her excellent work as Match Day Co-ordinator organising our valued band of volunteers.
As always the Sharks welcome volunteers without whom the club would not be able to function as it does. We are actively seeking any individual or group who would be able to film the game on match nights and produce a highlights package for the internet. We are also looking for a match night program editor and are always interested in hearing from anyone who would like to join our pool of match night helpers.
If you would like to help the Sharks in any of these positions please contact David Morrison by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
