Scholes Sets Out His Plans For 2014
“We can win the play-offs” – that’s the message from Telford Tigers owner Wayne Scholes, ahead of a crucial year for the club.
Scholes, who bought the trust-run outfit in October, laid out his plans for 2014 in a New Years’ message to supporters. A string of high-profile signings has already set tongues wagging across the English Premier League – and that is set to continue.
“We are by no means finished bringing players in, but we already have a really great set of guys here,” Scholes said.
“We have some of the finest youngsters in the league here at Telford, but what you need is experience alongside that. By doing that, we can help those younger guys develop, achieve a great career and create something really exciting at the Tigers.”
The club is now run by Red Hockey Ltd, of which Scholes is CEO, through his company Red Touch Media.
One of the first ambitions of the new set-up has always been to play at the top level of British Ice hockey. And for this season, that includes victory at the end-of-season EPL play-offs.
