Ross Green to start season with MK Thunder

The Smith Recycling-sponsored Milton Keynes Lightning can confirm that defenceman Ross Green will begin the 2016-17 season playing with the NIHL Milton Keynes Thunder, whilst continuing to train with the Lightning.

Ross, 24, suffered a double fracture of the lower leg in a training accident just over a year ago. GREEN v Steeldogs 20151122 MJD

“Pete and I decided that I’ll start the season with Thunder while I try and fully rehabilitate my ankle,” explained Ross.  “I think this is the right choice, as I’ll get more ice time and responsibility so that will help increase my confidence and get me used to playing again.

“I’ve been working hard in the gym so hopefully it won’t be long until I’m back in a Lightning shirt again!”

Lightning Head Coach, Pete Russell, commented, “We will support Ross in every way possible. We all want to see him get back to where he was and I know he’ll push hard to achieve that.”
