Robby Sandrock On Kelman Departure

Belfast Giants defenceman Robby Sandrock is one of the senior members of the playing staff and is currently moving into his fourth season with the organisation and had this to say on the departure of General Manager Todd Kelman to the Cardiff Devils:

“Todd has been instrumental in the success of the Belfast Giants organisation both as a player and as General Manager. But as with all businesses, employees move on and the players wish him and his family well on their new venture.”

“Being a part of the 2002/03 Playoff Championship team, I know that Todd was a fierce competitor on the ice and he has brought that to the General Manager’s role, which has resulted in huge amounts of success for the Belfast Giants over the last 7 years.”

“With Steve Thornton, he has contacted all of the players signed to date for the 2014/15 season and has spoken of his expectations and his role within the organisation.

“Being a former player, Steve understands the players needs and wants, and what it takes to build a championship team, just as Todd did. Steve is going to carry on the professionalism that the Belfast Giants is known for and it will remain a destination for top player looking to extend their career in Europe.”
