Road Warriors! Phantoms 6, Tigers 3

Import sensation Erik Piatak hit a hat-trick to lead the DALROD sponsored Phantoms to their first away victory of the English Premier League season tonight.

The city men produced a fine display to sink bottom side Telford and taste success on the road at the ninth attempt.

Phantoms were dominant for the opening 40 minutes in Shropshire as Marc Levers, Luke Ferrara and captain James Ferrara joined Slovakian star Piatak on the scoresheet.

The hosts did eat into their arrears in the final section, but a comeback never looked likely as Phantoms saw out the contest in efficient style.

Head coach Jon Kynaston said: “We played very well in the first and second periods.

“We did take our feet off the gas a bit in the third, but the game was already won by then.

“It is pleasing to put the first away win on the board. We have typically had one or two guys struggling in away games, but that was not the case tonight

“Everyone from netminder to defencemen to forwards made a positive contribution to a goodperformance and result.”

Phantoms can claim a first four-point weekend of the season tomorrow when they entertain Slough at the Peterborough Ice Arena (5.30pm start).

Victory over the Jets could also lift them into the top half of the EPL table.

Phantoms will again be without feisty forward Nicky Watt who is still being troubled by a groin problem.
