Blackburn Hawks Team Management would like to announce that local lad James Riddoch has signed for the club on a full-time basis for the coming season.

James is a product of our junior system and has spent the last couple of seasons learning his trade at senior level with our feeder club the Blackburn Eagles, whilst also gaining experience with the Hawks and has always acquitted himself excellently when called upon.

James himself had the following to say about signing: “I’m very pleased that Matt has asked me to sign for the Hawks this season, I’ve never played anywhere else but Blackburn and this has been the team I’ve wanted to sign for since the beginning.  I’ve achieved that now and I am looking to develop myself further. I personally can’t wait for next season, although the team has lost some key players this summer, I am happy and confident in the new boys coming in. I am looking forward to another successful season!”

There will be more announcements over the coming weeks as the roster continues to be filled and it’s hoped that most players should be signed up by the end of June, as Coach Darlow wants to hit the ice early and get everyone up to speed as quickly as possible.

The club also has several new sponsors this year and it’s hoped that we can release details very soon of this season’s new kit, as well as make necessary arrangements to have replicas in place and ready to go.

“It’s different, that’s for sure.” said Hawks PR and Media Manager, Graham Lomax.  “I’m happy with it and so are the rest of the Management Team, it was Matt’s decision at the end of the day and he’s had some input into it’s design.  I think it’s going to be very popular I’m sure of it.  We’re happy to have some of our regular sponsors back onboard and some new ones as well which is very exciting, the only thing I’m giving away is that the home kit’s main colour is white, and the away has some of last season’s off-white’ in it, I’m sorry to tease, but that’s all I can say at the moment!”
