PREVIEW: Nottingham Lions
With seating finally in place at the rink we’re hoping to again, attract an even bigger Wild following for the clash as local interest continues to increase in the club.
Fresh from a 4-2 defeat at home to Deeside, Nottingham will be looking to take the 2 points in Widnes to get their title fight back on track. After a stunning 12-goal thriller in Nottingham on 13th October when Wild travelled to the midlands to face last years league champions, this is a fixture which is already looking likely to be an exciting way to finish anyone’s weekend. The 7-5 Lions win was another game where Wild took time to get fully into pace the game was being played at, dropped a few goals, but spent their time on the ice well with continuously closing down the Lions and coming very close to taking at least 1 point from the game.
Last weekend for Wild was spent with a short bench and a late night in Coventry, losing 7-2 to the Blaze. In a game were Blaze were a lot less physical than the previous visit to Coventry, it appeared from the stands that with a full bench it was a winnable fixture for the Wild but as fitness levels began to take over, and the loss of Calum Ruddick after the first period. Wild will be looking to turn over last years Champions and shake-off last weeks dissapointing result.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the game again this weekend as we look to welcome the Wild back onto the home ice for the second league appearance!
The game will face-off at 18:15pm, with the team doing their on-ice warm up from 17:30pm. Adults £5, Children £3.
