Your Go Goodwins sponsored Manchester Storm, are due to play their final games of the preseason this weekend as part of the 4 Nations Showcase! Tonight they play against German team, Tölzer Löwen 19:00 face-off time. With only one week to go until Storm play their first game of the regulation season, away at Panthers, this weekend is your final chance to see them play against teams outside of the EIHL, so be sure not to miss them!

Last Sunday 26th August was an eventful game, resulting in a 7-1 victory to the Storm. The game saw netminder, Heny Pacl make his preseason debut, where he pulled off some amazing saves, only conceding one goal in 38 shots.

Captain, Dane Byers also achieved a hat-trick, and new player, MacMillan also got his debut goal. Overall it was a fast-paced game, with a better outcome than the penalty loss to Odense Bulldogs the evening before.

A few months ago, Tölzer Löwen stepped up to the Four Nations to replace SC Riessersee, who unfortunately had to drop out.

Founded in 1928 Tölzer Löwen play in the DEL2 league and play out of Hacker-Pschorr Arena. They finished last season with 52 points and start this season with ten returnees, including Casey Borer, who was chosen by Carolina Hurricanes in round three, NHL draft pick in 2004.

The team visit the Storm Shelter this Sunday with their Head Coaches, Marcus Berwanger, and Captain, Florian Stroble.

Ones to Watch: Phillipp Schlager, 55 points in 52 games last season with the team.

Stephen Macauley, 65 points in 66 games, aquired this year from ECHL team, Florida Everblades.

Mike Hammond, who unfortunately left the ice with a lower body injury last week, has since had a scan and the club are waiting for the results.

Storm returnee, Shane Bakker landed in Manchester this week, and after training yesterday, will be icing this weekend!

The starting netminder for tonight’s game is, #1 Matt Ginn.
