Pre-Season Challenge Announced

The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms will renew old rivalries in September when they will host a home and away challenge against the Invicta Dynamos.

The Phantoms will travel to the Silver Blades Ice Rink in Gillingham on Sunday 8th September (face-off 5.15pm), just 24 hours after hosting Kevin Parrish’s team at Planet Ice Peterborough on Saturday 7th (Face-Off 7.00pm).

The two clubs last met in September 2005 in a  pre-season friendly that saw the Phantoms travel to Kent and come away with a 5-3 victory. The last league meeting between the clubs was at the end of the 2002-03 season, when both clubs played out a 3-3 draw. The following season the Dynamos left the EPL to move to the English National League.

Since leaving the EPL, the Dynamos have been one of the top NIHL clubs and this week signed Elliot Knell from the Sheffield Steeldogs. Other players who will be familiar to the Phantoms fans include Danny Hammond, netminder Chris Douglas and import Forward Juraj Huska.

Former Dynamos to pull on a Phantoms Shirt include Callum Fowler, Robbie Brown and Richie Bentham.

Following the Phantoms game in Gillingham on the Sunday evening, Peterboroughs newest Rec Team, the Peterborough Flyers, will be taking on the Medway Madness (Face-Off 8.15pm).
