Parry predicts play-off skirmish in Solihull
Confidence could prove crucial for The Tigers NIHL this weekend, when they face Sheffield Senators in the Laidler Conference play-offs at Solihull.
The county men head to Hobbs Moat Road on Sunday after a remarkable first season, which saw them finish second behind runaway winners the Barons.
Games between the two sides ended 3-1 in Telford’s favour over the course of the season, albeit with Sheffield having won their last meeting 4-2.
That places extra emphasis on morale within The Tigers NIHL camp, which Assistant Coach Jason Parry believes is at a high.
He said: “It will be a new experience for the majority of our young squad, and one that will be great for their development. The main thing is that we don’t take anything for granted.
“We will go into the semi-final with great confidence and take it one shift at a time. Against a team like Sheffield, it is important that we work hard for the whole 60 minutes.â€
Victory in that game will hand Telford a place in the play-off final on Monday – most likely against hosts Solihull Barons.
Parry added: “Everyone is really looking forward to the weekend and we just want to get started. We’ve worked hard to get into the position we are in this year, but the play-offs are one game at a time.
“Our guys will be looking to show what they’re learned this season and most of all, they want to enjoy the whole weekend.â€
