Oxford City Stars Welcomes New Recruit
Oxford’s premier Ice Hockey team, the Oxford City Stars, are pleased to announce a key off-ice appointment with the arrival of Sarah Gooding as Head of Supporter Relations. Sarah will be well known to sports fans in the City for her spell as Supporters Liaison Officer at Oxford United, during which time the club won the Football League L2 Family Club of the Year award and the Football League Family Excellence award.
A new convert to the world’s fastest team sport, Sarah has volunteered to help the Stars to grow and connect with its fans in a way that the club has never had the resources to do before.
Club Director Paul Lynch said, “I know Sarah popped along to a hockey game a few years ago and has since become a regular supporter. We are so honoured that she wanted to help out once she saw some of the work the club is doing around the community and local charities. She will be a huge asset to this Ice Hockey club and will no doubt help propel us further forward towards our goals for sport in the City.”
Sarah Gooding said, “I’m delighted to be a part of Stars, having been a regular attendee since moving to Oxford 2 years ago. I have known James for a couple of years now through OUFC and to now have the opportunity to volunteer for the Stars is something I’m very excited about. This type of role cannot work if the people at the top don’t subscribe to it, so I thank James, Paul and Russell for the opportunity, and can’t wait to get going and to develop things further.”
Sarah will start her role before this Sunday’s game vs Solent Devils and any supporters with ideas or feedback for her are welcomed to reach her via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Director Lynch added: “Sarah’s passion for sport and fan enjoyment is outstanding, we welcome her on board and look forward to exciting times ahead for Ice Hockey in the City.”
