Oxford City Stars Board openings

Oxford City Stars is inviting applications for new Board members to help the club work towards its goals, especially given the recent uncertainty surrounding British Ice Hockey’s league structure. Existing Directors Russell Shrives and James Schall are looking for two persons to join them in their drive to bring the highest level of Ice Hockey to Oxford as possible.

The Director’s roles are voluntary and the club’s Board is looking for persons who can bring additional commercial contact and support, generate and deliver projects, and bring ideas to grow the Oxford City Stars fan base and revenue streams. With supporter numbers exploding, commercial partnerships blossoming, and relations with Oxford City Council at an all-time high, the opportunities to expand and succeed with one of Oxford’s sporting heavyweights are vast.

The club currently has a solid and diverse volunteer structure which is second to none, but the current Board feels it is unable to progress at the speed required within the current structure, and is seeking support to expand the club’s profile further. Oxford City Stars is inviting people who are either fans of Ice Hockey, or individuals who have no Ice Hockey knowledge but who have a drive, passion and appetite to play a role in the success of one of Oxfordshire’s top sporting clubs.

Director James Schall said “Russell and I are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and the rewards personally in my own experiences and skills gained from working for this club have been amazing. We now need some assistance to push the club forward, and I look forward to hearing from any individuals who want the reward of the learnings and also the satisfaction of growing and promoting our beloved sport”.

Applications can be sent to jamesschallstars@gmail.com and the club would ask if those applications were made by May 15th.
