Owen to step down after historic season

Blackburn arena and Blackburn Hawks management would like to announce that the head coach of the Blackburn Hawks, Jared Owen will be stepping down at the end of this season’s campaign.

Jared will be leaving the Hawks due to work commitments and to spend more time with his family.

He has been head coach of the Blackburn Hawks for the last five seasons and has been the only coach to steer the Hawks to a league championship win in the 25 years of hockey in Blackburn.

The HAWKS were crowned playoff champions in 2012/13

Jared lead the HAWKS to the League title in 2014/15 and the Playoff championship in 2012/13

I’m sure all the Hawks players, management and supporters would like to wish him all the best for the future.

Negotiations are well underway to replace him for the 2015/16 campaign, but no announcement will be made about his successor until after the league playoffs on the 11th / 12th April.

Jared will take charge of the Hawks for the final time at the 25th anniversary game on 25th April 2015.
