NIHL: NIHL North awards gain broadcast backing
The National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) North – Moralee and Laidler Divisions – will once again be holding an end of season Player Awards ceremony at the playoff weekend – this time with the backing of online broadcaster NIHL Radio.
Internet radio coverage of games in the NIHL North has been a great development in the past couple of seasons, and now NIHL Radio have taken on the role of organising the end of season awards showpiece.
NIHL North manager Charles Dacres said: “The player awards were a great addition to our playoff weekend a few years ago, and I am delighted that NIHL Radio have brought them back for this season.
“As the season gets underway, we wish all players and clubs the very best of luck, and I look forward to presenting Player Awards at the playoffs next April.”

NIHL Radio are pleased to announce that we will be organising the end of season Moralee Conference and Laidler Conference Awards, in conjunction with the EIHA, to take place over the season-ending Play-Off Finals Weekend.
The awards ceremony was a welcome addition to the Moralee Play-Off Weekends that were held previously in Dumfries and we are thrilled to be awarding trophies in the following categories, separately, to both Conferences:
- Player of the Year
- Young Player of the Year (U20 eligible)
- Coach of the Year
- Team/Organisation of the Year
- All Star Selections, 1st and 2nd Teams
Nominations for the NIHL Radio Awards will be from votes cast by a selection of coaches and players representing each team, media and journalists that cover each respective Conference and members of the EIHA. Fans and spectators who attend this season’s Play-Off Finals Weekend will be able to witness the announcing of the winners and presentation of the trophies.
