NIHL Cup kit revealed!

Blackburn Hawks Ice Hockey Club are delighted to be able to announce a new and exciting partnership with local Sportswear Company ‘Kukri’.

As most of you will have noticed we wore our brand new third Kit on Saturday night away in Solway – the new and unique design features a sublimated Hawks Logo right through the body of the shirt and looks amazing, Kukri currently also supply Elite League Team Belfast Giants with all of their kit.

Graham Lomax, Blackburn Hawks PR Manager commented:

“The concept is something new to us, we’d noticed that a lot of the EPL and Elite League Teams had one-off kits made for various occasions such as Valentines Day, Halloween or Christmas and we thought well, why not? We will wear the kit for the 6 Cup games only – we needed to come up with a design and colour scheme that enabled us to do this and be able to wear it for both Home and Away fixtures, so we sat down with Kukri and their design team and came up with the shirt. We all love it, the players love it and we know our fans will to.

Kukri are an international company but are based locally at Walton Summit. They supply kits to various teams and sports, including recently providing all kit and apparel for Team England at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow, and also boast Lancashire County Cricket Club as one of their clients, and now Blackburn Hawks. It’s an exciting project in exciting times for the club.”

Katy Allen of Kukri stated:

“We have worked with Blackburn Hawks to create a unique jersey for the players to wear on the ice during this season’s cup competition. We are delighted to have begun this partnership with The Hawks and look forward to creating more exciting kit for the players to wear over the coming seasons.”

We intend to package up the game-worn one-off shirts for sale – no replicas are being sold. We believe that with our ever-growing fan base there will be a market to sell off the shirts in the very near future. We would like to thank Kukri for the time and effort that has gone into the new kit and we look forward to working together once again in the near future. We will be wearing the new kit again next week at Home to Solway Sharks on Sunday 8th November when the staff of Kukri will be our guests.
