NHL Reverse Retro Jerseys Released

The NHL’s reverse retro collection has sure got people talking and to be fair there are some real gems along side the ugos and what on earths.

  1. Boston Bruins – it’s a yes from me. A classic design with the classic Bruins colours and that undefined spoked B makes up for the use of that awful bear logo.
  2. Buffalo Sabres – It’s a nice design if a bit of hotchpotch between the classic 70’s logo and the modern writing. But then no one ever said hey you know what’s great . . Buffalo
  3. Detroit Red Wings – did some one forget to design this or a printer run out of ink
  4. Florida Panthers – remember that one season when Florida where great I do know with this jersey.
  5. Montreal Canadiens – hard to reimagine a jersey that has barely changed and swapping red for blue doesn’t really do it for me.
  6. Ottawa Senators – has there ever been a bad Senators jersey. Maybe not and this isn’t either.
  7. Tampa Bay Lightning – it’s a classic needs to be put with the lightning bolt shorts to complete the look.
  8. Toronto Maple Leafs – not sure what’s reimagined here but yeah they did have jerseys like this once and Leafs also cups in it … Once upon time.
  1. Anaheim – so my three year old drew a hockey player and somehow its on a jersey
  2. Arizona Coyotes – just like the team the design is there somewhere I am sure.
  3. Calgary Flames – the Larry MacDonald tashed horse head logo is back. With the 80’s red and gold a classic it makes you wonder why go with this.
  4. Edmonton Oilers – Stop me if you heard this one before said The Smith’s and I am sure I seen this before.
  5. LA Kings – it’s a good one. Doesn’t remind me of horrid woollen school jumpers like the original but brings some colour to the King’s.
  6. San Jose Sharks – strips look good, thin shoulder strip looks good, contrast colours looks good so lots through them all on.
  7. Vancouver Canucks – there was time when half home half away football and rugby tops were sold (can’t bring my self to say fashionable) and this throws back to them.
  8. Vegas Golden Knights – is this their jersey? I guess so it’s the only one left.
  1. Carolina Hurricanes – given the ‘Canes have won a cup I am not sure what the obsession is with the Whalers. Yes their logo and jerseys where cool but that was in Hartford not Raleigh.
  2. Columbus Blue Jackets – is this the Blue Jackets or the Washington Capitals?
  3. New Jersey Devils – yes they did have some green in there once upon time
  4. New York Islanders – No one notices the Islanders so maybe they won’t notice if we don’t design this one.
  5. New York Rangers – was time running out as it looks like they sent the intern to Time Square to get a jumper with the Statue of Liberty head on it.
  6. Philadelphia Flyers – they have had some classic shades of orange and surely less is more not framed and white cuffs for some reason.
  7. Pittsburgh Penguins – now I know how to spell
  8. Washington Capitals – I can go with it and it looks like a Caps jersey
  1. Chicago Blackhawks – feel like I have seen this before but maybe not. Nice simple true to history design.
  2. Colorado Avalanche – has Carolina moved to Quebec City? No. shame because this would make an awesome Nordiques jersey. Instead looks out of place in Colorado when Winnipeg and Minnesota are throwing back to franchises that left.
  3. Dallas Stars – I think this makes the classic late 90s design better.
  4. Minnesota Wild – brings back the North Stars colours and I like it.
  5. Nashville Predators – like the swap from silver to white to bring it up to date
  6. St Louis Blues – nice update on that colourful classic
  7. Winnipeg Jets – Remember that black Winnipeg jersey. No I didn’t either.
