Next season starts here

Thank you all for your incredible and unfaltering support over a long and sometimes difficult season.  That’s the message to every single Oxford City Stars supporter and sponsor, and it comes from everybody at the club, including the coaches, players, management and off-ice officials.  You’ve all played an important part in helping the team come through and survive a really difficult division.
Work is already underway to prepare for next season, and Darren Elliott and Simon Anderson are both looking forward to mounting a play-off challenge, speaking to the Oxford Mail, Simon said: “Now we know a bit more about what we’re facing next season and we have to use this experience to ensure that we do not find ourselves battling relegation again.  We have to look to build a team that is capable of making the playoffs comfortably and I don’t think we are a million miles away with the current roster. If we tweak a few areas of the team and maybe add a little bit of experience, the play offs will be something we can shoot for”.
Darren hinted at the preparations for next season, “It’s be a really tough division this season, and we’re really pleased that not only have we survived, but we’ve properly competed with even the best teams.  We always backed ourselves – we have a great bunch of players here, and we really think we deserved to stay up.  We’ve learned a lot about the division and that’s going to help us prepare over the summer – we’ve got some irons in the fire, and have already had some conversations with a couple of possible imports.”
Keep an eye on the website and social media across the summer for all the breaking news in the build up to next season as the Stars target the play-offs.
